"Skipped the gym again. Told myself I'd go tomorrow."
Private beta · Limited to 500
Say the thing you can't say out loud.
Speak for a minute. Beacon listens, and says nothing about you until it's sure — once something has come up on three separate days.
Free during the beta · No card · iPhone
How it works
Three things, then nothing else to do.
Speak
Tap the orb and talk. A gentle question if you want one, no one on the other end, nothing to perform.
Keep
Your words are transcribed and filed by day. The recording itself is discarded — what's kept is the text.
Notice
Beacon reads across your entries quietly. It speaks only when the same thing has come up on three separate days — and if it isn't sure, it stays silent.
How it deepens
It listens from the first word. It speaks when it's sure.
Every entry is kept the moment you stop speaking. Beacon won't tell you anything about yourself until the same thing has come up on three separate days.
"He said the project looked good. I keep thinking about the parts that aren't."
"Three hours on a deck that was fine after twenty minutes."
"Couldn't get my head to go quiet tonight."

Proving yourself into exhaustion
The fear of being found lacking shows up before the feedback meeting, in the emails you couldn't leave alone, in the hours spent on a deck that was already finished. Each time the answer is the same — do more, go longer — until the work stops and the restlessness doesn't.
An illustration, not a real person's journal — but the shape is real. Beacon draws only on your own entries. It doesn't diagnose, and it doesn't give advice.
-
From the first entry
It listens.
Each recording is transcribed and filed by day, and you can see the topics Beacon picked up. It doesn't interpret anything yet — no advice, no score, no reply.
-
After three separate days
It can name the thing.
Once the same thing has come up on three different days, Beacon may name it — once, in plain words. If the evidence isn't strong enough, it says nothing at all.
-
From there on
It has more to go on.
The longer you keep speaking, the more Beacon has to read across — and the less it has to guess.
Most AI journals reply to every entry. Beacon would rather say nothing than say something it isn't sure of.
Private by design
Built to be the least social app on your phone.
-
Your voice isn't stored
Recordings are transcribed and discarded in the same request. What's kept is the text, not the sound of you saying it.
-
There's no feed to appear in
Nothing to post, nobody to notify, no one else's entries to measure yourself against. There is no version of Beacon other people can see.
-
Deleting means deleted
One action in Settings removes your account, every entry, and every pattern derived from them. It's a deletion, not a hide.
The full detail — what's collected, who processes it, how long it's kept — is in the Privacy Policy.
Who makes Beacon
One person, building it slowly.
Beacon is designed and built by Adonay Merkonnen, an independent developer in the UK — the iPhone app, the servers, and the pattern engine behind it. There's no company and no investors, which is why it can afford to be quiet: nothing about Beacon needs you to open it more often.
“Beacon has one rule: it has to earn the right to speak.” — Adonay Merkonnen
